My brother and some of his friends were driving out in the country somewhere and they ran into a big frog. It was apparently so big that it caused them to stop the car, get out and look at it. My brother described the size of the frog as close in size to a basketball. He said it was mostly dead with its guts hanging out. The image of that frog, even having not seen it first hand, has always stuck out in my mind. The idea of this freakishly large amphibious creature with strange stuff hanging out of its body on a dark road in the middle of nowhere. It'a always haunted me and this drawing reminded me of it.
hey Jim, I am reminded of dissection in Biology class, and, unfortunately, also of open-heart surgery. My son said they tied him down in the "jesus" position on the operating table.

ReplyDeleteYes, I use fixative, sparingly, but it doesn't seem to fix anything... the drawings remain dead.
