Our good friend Jordan just sent us this picture taken earlier this year at Federation Square in Melbourne, Australia, where this billboard-sized transparency of a Frank painting was on display. Later that evening we ate kangaroo steaks and crocodile tempura, both of which were delicious. It poured rain. I bought a good trick at a magic shop.
What's a kangaroo steak taste like?
ReplyDeleteWow. Did they let you bring that home?
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Sir!
ReplyDeleteI went to this show and rushed by the transparency, looking for Jims art show, Frank was there and so I knew I was close I ended up looking high and low for the rest of the show. At the gallery Book shop they told me that was the show.
ReplyDeleteI was pretty disapointed, but it all turned Ok the next day when I got to meet Jim at my favourite Comic shop for the last 20 years, the Minotour bookshop.
I have travelled all the way to Berkeley comic shop'Comic Relief" to buy a signed copy of the big Frank Book. Never would I dream that Jim and Mary would ever come all the way to Melbourne. I stupidly got there early, hung around like a comic book creep/geek and as one of the first in line I only got to pester Jim for a minute before moving on.
Thanks Jim for making the effort. Come again!
