Now that I have a turntable again I'm having the time of my life listening to my old LPs, including this otherworldly favorite: Pupshaw and Pushpaw's only album of hoppin' hot raga two-steps. Pupshaw can't sing very well but she ululates like a donkey hatching a time bomb. Cute and catchy!
Now that is truly awesome. Jeepers, where's the MP3 link?
ReplyDeleteYeah, I'm way disappointed too. I was hoping to hear some hot Unifactor hits!
ReplyDeleteHow did you modify your turntable to play records from Frank's neck of the multiverse? I hear they rotate backwards at 23 rpm.
Wow, beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWould you please share the translation of the cover text? Looks kinda like Devanāgarī.
It is indeed Devangari and it says, not surprisingly, "Pupshaw and Pushpaw". I think I got 'em right, but my grasp of that language is extremely shakey. Incidentally, Pushpa is Sanskrit for "flower", it turns out, and it's also a woman's name in India.
ReplyDeleteI'm lost. I'm confused. I'm far from home. But this is a mighty nice cover.
ReplyDeleteOf all the Pupshaw/Pushpaw images I have loved through the years, I think I may love this one the best. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the translation! I took Hindi in college for a couple semesters, but unfortunately don't remember much of it, as I don't really have occasion to use it.
ReplyDeleteI do still know how to pronounce the word for "milk" (sounds like "Doood").
So great! How large is this in real life?
ReplyDelete12" x 12"
ReplyDeleteWOot! Looky right here! Thats great Jim. Is this for anything specific?
ReplyDeleteJim~ Any chance that you would be willing to part ways with this gem for some sum or some thing?
ReplyDeleteYes.
ReplyDeleteIt's easy to imagine a jazz connection here: Pupshaw and Pushpaw gamboling o'er hill and dale, scatting from both ends all the while.
ReplyDeleteJim~
ReplyDeleteWould you show me the sum or shape I would be looking at for this beauty? (I should send my contact address to your mindspring spot?)
