About Me
- Name: Jim Woodring
- Location: Seattle, Washington, United States
I was born in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains in Southern California and enjoyed an exciting childhood full of poetry and paroniria among the snakes, rats and tarantulas of that enchanted realm. I eventually grew into an inquisitive bearlike man who has had three exciting careers; garbage collector, merry-go-round-operator and cartoonist. Some of my work is collected in THE BOOK OF JIM, THE FRANK BOOK and SEEING THINGS (all published by Fantagraphics) and in various toys, fabrics, prints and urban legends. Thank you for your interest.

I hope I'm not being to much of a pest with these materials questions, but....
vine charcoal linework and Char-Kole finishes? Or what?
GENERAL'S charcoal pencils.
Ah, but Foxglove errs -- people are going deaf in Paris all the time.

I think you should change the name of this picture to "Iraq."
I thought you might find this interesting, especially the one eyed, grinning umbrella monster:
The Yokai of Japan
Thank you Jim. And thanks to your lemur, too!
Yes, that lemur is whispering advice into Jim's right nostril - they had a long conversation no one else could hear much of. I know there was something about bananas, and squinty kangaroos. And Conte, that got a little heated.
The frogs are obviously terrified but the guy in the tree doesn't seem overly concerned.
LOVE... And holy damn. GENERAL's brand?? (that kinda rhymed) That's some down and dirty supplies. I mean, I know skill always shines through but y'know, I'm too spoiled on Char-Kole and Faber-Castell graphite pencils. I'm a cake-eater artist. ::shame::
