This interlocking series of embryonic events is brought to you by the peculiar qualities of red latex housepaint, which springs to the plank like a homing dove and dries like a greasy hippopotamus.
I was looking at the pic of Frank pulling the eyeball and thought that it matched up with the neck of the horse sketch. Then I noticed that it was intended to be part of the scene with the frog. It occured to me that a small book of drawings that could be rearranged like a flip book would be incredibly interesting. Kind of like Charles Burns and Gary Panter's faces except instead of rearranging features there could be different characters and scenes that could be flipped around.
Aeron; regarding the flip book imagery- I think that the idea that occured to you is there on this blog, don't you? You are describing the very book you're looking at. THere are 3 examples of page to page imagery on this post. Jim got there first, sorry.
I always enjoy seeing the "in the works" aspect of people's creations. The one of the woman truly "baring it all" is incredibly intense. That really is what it feels like to spill your guts when you're an incredibly private person by nature. I'm a dichotomy that way. I'm super modest and very private, yet given the right situation, more than willing to bare the deepest, most vile recesses of my soul.
man, my blessed moleskin doesn't have any women showing off their really private privates...gotta get to work on my moleskin!
ReplyDeleteYou make the idea of doing home refurbishment so much more inspiring!
ReplyDeletethis is interesting.. more dreamwork like this would be funny. Like your latest dream-comic strip. That would have been awsome!
ReplyDeleteTooooo cool. I'm quitting high school and joining a Moleskine gang!

ReplyDeleteLook at the horse head and the demon character and imagine it matching up with the frog getting its eye pulled sketch cropping. Very weird.

ReplyDeleteAnd Tom, I'm not sure you understod what I was driving at. I was pointing out these particular images as resembling a flip book concept.
