I knew there was a reason I've never been to Venezuela! Another fantastic piece, but you can't distract us from the fact that you've been secretly designing robots for the Japanese -
I love this image, it's got a great dynamic and brings to mind Bert Hellinger's 'constellation therapy'. Frank might have placed these elements of his 'family' himself in an effort to gain insight into the complex energies of his relationships.... The OTHER thing it brings to mind is my hope that one day, most of these characters will be 3-dimensional: Jim, I'm sure I don't speak alone when I say we would love to see a capsule toy set or something similar with pretty much the entire ensemble of this image collected!
Great work. The shape of that cowled creature reminds me of the Virgin of Guadalupe. I love the crowd! You should illustrate (as if you're not busy! Ha!) the story of Simple Simon who met a Pieman...and really open the floodgates to the glimmering world. Plus pie.
eli curtz, that's a great find! I definitely see the Woodring influence in those creatures/robots in the link you provided. I liked the few English references to "DNA" and a "Saliency Map" especially! Good stuff!

I love these "busy" images. Reminds me of Bosch's "Garden of Earthly Delights".
