PUNCTURE-PERFECT PRE-ECHO

Top, a panel from the as-yet unreleased WEATHERCRAFT; below, news photo of a "failed Russian missile test". Thanks to Rupert Goodwins, who notes: "Good to see the unnerving tradition of Victor Brauner's enucleated eye is still plucking feathers from the
fleeing rump of the future..."
Holy cow, man!
ReplyDeleteBy George! Uncanny! And Manhog's doing quite the Boris Yeltsin impersonation in your drawing, too. Is the frog perhaps doing a traditional Finnish folk dance?
ReplyDeleteHello!! I tried to send you an email to an email I found on your website but I'm not sure if it worked... My name is nikki I spoke with you a little bit on Saturday (blue hat black coat, Fantagraphics store), I was wondering if the drawing stuff was going on this Wednesday/ also what time? I would like to come! I should have written down the specifics...
ReplyDeleteHey jim!
ReplyDeleteI noticed a total pupshaw rip off on this "questionable" cartoon video ... (13 sec mark)

Huh! Coincidence? Looks an awful lot like her alright... scampers about like her, too.
ReplyDeleteWhoa! And with your pre-echo mention of the pre-echo release of the NORWEGIAN edition of the same book, this is getting freaky-deaky. Please, Jim, explain to all us unenlightened folk what this means!

OK, I'll attempt a bit of analysis here. The frog is hungry for enlightenment, flicking its tongue eagerly toward the spiral's center while clueless lard-brained Manhog wanders through the scene unaware in his lazy house robe. I also see something that looks like a rocket/missile and a radio tower (HAARP?). I could continue but me brains is achin'.
ReplyDeleteThis is amazing Jim! Though it's certainly not the first time your art has anticipated a news story about to happen. keep up the good work!
