About Me

- Name: Jim Woodring
- Location: Seattle, Washington, United States
I was born in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains in Southern California and enjoyed an exciting childhood full of poetry and paroniria among the snakes, rats and tarantulas of that enchanted realm. I eventually grew into an inquisitive bearlike man who has had three exciting careers; garbage collector, merry-go-round-operator and cartoonist. Some of my work is collected in THE BOOK OF JIM, THE FRANK BOOK and SEEING THINGS (all published by Fantagraphics) and in various toys, fabrics, prints and urban legends. Thank you for your interest.

Nothing quite like working on a stone - very different experience than a plate - especially if you did the grinding and etching ;)
Beautiful!!
I don't know my tusche from my tush, but that is fantastic!
Pull a large edition so that it may be purchased by the common man.

Beautiful work.
Hmm..beautiful, but obviously my knowledge of froggy anatomy has suffered greatly since the good ol' dissection days in Biology...
Incredible. I've heard much of the evils of lithography but you seem to have reined it in.
Frighteningly intense, and Albrecht Durer couldn't have done a tighter job.

The art is really amazing. It makes people to think on it. I wonder, What was in mind of the artist when he was creating this one.

I saw this picture of a dead frog surrounded by weird miniature humanoid things and thought of a dead frog. :)
This is really mind blowing. But, Albrecht Durer couldn't have done a tighter job.
There's no question that Seattle has a ton going on all the time. They have a gigantic arts scene, great resturants, and terrific family events available every week.
In light of the recent decision by the US gov't, I'm curious to hear what the Canadian grinders are planning to do with their funds on FTP/Stars?
