About Me
- Name: Jim Woodring
- Location: Seattle, Washington, United States
I was born in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains in Southern California and enjoyed an exciting childhood full of poetry and paroniria among the snakes, rats and tarantulas of that enchanted realm. I eventually grew into an inquisitive bearlike man who has had three exciting careers; garbage collector, merry-go-round-operator and cartoonist. Some of my work is collected in THE BOOK OF JIM, THE FRANK BOOK and SEEING THINGS (all published by Fantagraphics) and in various toys, fabrics, prints and urban legends. Thank you for your interest.

These new pictures are amazing!
I'm a little worried about the absence of Fran though...
We learned about this dwelling while studying American Indians in first grade. It is the longhouse, with cornucopia styling. It typically contains warm rugs and 55 Jerry Chickens. It has a rich oily smell and inspires feelings of envy in tribes with lesser carpentry skills.
Love this lots. What's the media, Jim? It has the look of a woodcut, but I presume it's hand-rendered.
Beware - it could be a Pornocopia.
man...it feels like you're giving away the farm...MOO!
I really wish I could find some advertising links to discover somewhere to gamble so i could drive there in my new nizzan... ;-)
great artwork as usual, monsieur Woodring :-)
Funny comments by Chad too.
I'm so glad I found your work!
I thought that enchantment had gone forever.
:)
Browsing around your work...
So here I was expecting W.C. Fields and an orange grove - well this is swell too.
inspired lunacy. love it all. captivating. when you can look at a picture for 15 mins and know that there is more to see, you know genius walks amongst us.
It's a pen and ink drawing, Irwin. Woodcuts are beyond the power of my wrists to create.
Thanks for all the nice comments, folks.
NO FRANK DON'T GO IN THERE!
