I was born in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains in Southern California and enjoyed an exciting childhood full of poetry and paroniria among the snakes, rats and tarantulas of that enchanted realm. I eventually grew into an inquisitive bearlike man who has had three exciting careers; garbage collector, merry-go-round-operator and cartoonist. Thanks for this, Jim! I'd love to see more works in progress. I recall seeing what looked like gesture sketches in pencil behind the finished ink drawings in your moleskine sketchbook posts. It would be of great interest to struggling artists like myself to see a step-by-step set of images showing how one of your amazing drawings evolves from the planning stage to the finished product. Better yet, perhaps you could post a video of you drawing. Purty please?
I must say, that your artwork is fantastic, the lines are so clean, yet there´s som much going on.
I just found your blog, and I will keep popping by to see more!
