About Me
- Name: Jim Woodring
- Location: Seattle, Washington, United States
I was born in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains in Southern California and enjoyed an exciting childhood full of poetry and paroniria among the snakes, rats and tarantulas of that enchanted realm. I eventually grew into an inquisitive bearlike man who has had three exciting careers; garbage collector, merry-go-round-operator and cartoonist. Some of my work is collected in THE BOOK OF JIM, THE FRANK BOOK and SEEING THINGS (all published by Fantagraphics) and in various toys, fabrics, prints and urban legends. Thank you for your interest.

Jim, I think it's great that you're focusing on the art side of Frank and this bizarre universe. But have you ever considered making individual drawings like this, scanning them in and composing them in photoshop as panels to a regular comic page? I understand there's very little money in comics, but if you could create 5 or 6 individual drawings for every comic page, it might make it somewhat more lucrative? Just an idea. I greatly enjoy your art but I enjoy your comic work equally as much and hope to see much more of it.
And I stumbled across this strange image of a large tornadoe like formation in a field with patterns that reminded me of your drawings. Hopefully the link isn't broken.. http://www.neverhappened.org/photos/uncategorized/amenaza.jpg
It is apparently taken from this artist's page http://www.rafa-c.com/
Mr. Woodring -- I saw this and instinctively thought of your brain fruit.
Good posting!
