About Me
- Name: Jim Woodring
- Location: Seattle, Washington, United States
I was born in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains in Southern California and enjoyed an exciting childhood full of poetry and paroniria among the snakes, rats and tarantulas of that enchanted realm. I eventually grew into an inquisitive bearlike man who has had three exciting careers; garbage collector, merry-go-round-operator and cartoonist. Some of my work is collected in THE BOOK OF JIM, THE FRANK BOOK and SEEING THINGS (all published by Fantagraphics) and in various toys, fabrics, prints and urban legends. Thank you for your interest.

Just look at all those ferns. You must have found the only bit of Australia unaffected by drought.
That sinuous white-barked tree near the centre of the photo: it wasn't by any chance …MOVING, was it?
Was this photo taken in New Holland Jim?
Maybe in the future our cities will be so well integrated with the natural landscape that they become part of it, and no longer disrupt the biosphere.
I just thought he mean tthey were going to build housing development there.
Is this near Kuranda, Jim? I recall a very similar looking spot while on a trail outside Cairns.

I suppose any land not currently occupied by masses of human beings is the city of the future, though I favor some molelike underground cities rather than destroying the little forest and jungle we have left.
