I was born in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains in Southern California and enjoyed an exciting childhood full of poetry and paroniria among the snakes, rats and tarantulas of that enchanted realm. I eventually grew into an inquisitive bearlike man who has had three exciting careers; garbage collector, merry-go-round-operator and cartoonist. Some of my work is collected in THE BOOK OF JIM, THE FRANK BOOK and SEEING THINGS (all published by Fantagraphics) and in various toys, fabrics, prints and urban legends. Thank you for your interest.

I think there is plenty to see during the grinding process, especially when it is affiliated with Salvia!
Salvia makes me feel like 1/3 of my head was lopped off with some very precise cutting instrument, (one so sharp that my head forgot to bleed) then reattatched exacltly 1 half-inch out of place. Gnxxgth.
A lovely set of happy lads... i believe i might've roughly resembled the fellow on the left at least once myself.
I have had much experience with tryptamines as well as various cactii.. and when I bought my first copy of _Frank_, I told everyone I knew that this drawing style was unmistakably that of Salvia Divinorum. A friend who I said this to emailed me the link to this blog.. I am both humbled and admittedly proud that I was right.
